MONROVIA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai on Tuesday held a consultative meeting with the leadership of the Liberian Senate aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Executive and Legislative branches on key national priorities.
The meeting, held at the President’s Rehab Community Office in Paynesville, focused on governance, national development, national security, and the importance of sustained dialogue between the two branches of government.
According to the Executive Mansion, President Boakai and the Senate leadership agreed to maintain regular consultations and continue working together on initiatives that promote peace, stability, and the welfare of the Liberian people.
The Senate delegation included Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, President Pro Tempore Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, Montserrado County Senator Abraham Darius Dillon, Bomi County Senator Alex Tyler, Maryland County Senators James P. Biney and Gbleh-bo Brown, Bong County Senator Prince K. Moye, Grand Cape Mount County Senator Dabah M. Varpilah, and Sinoe County Senator Augustine S. Chea.
Also attending from the Executive Branch were Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Samuel A. Stevquoah, Justice Minister and Attorney General Cllr. Oswald N. Tweh, Information Minister Jerolinmek M. Piah, National Security Advisor Samuel Kofi Woods II, and Presidential Legal Advisor Bushuben M. Keita.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by the Boakai administration to strengthen cooperation between the Executive and the Legislature in addressing issues of national importance.
