Monrovia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has strengthened its specialized tactical response capacity following the successful completion of an intensive eight-month advanced tactical training program in Kigali, Rwanda, by twenty officers of the force.
According to a release issued by the LNP Tuesday said the officers are expected to enhance the force’s ability to respond to emergency situations, high-risk interventions, and other specialized law enforcement operations requiring advanced tactical expertise.
The graduation ceremony is scheduled to take place on May 27, 2026, in Kigali, Rwanda, as part of the ongoing implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Liberia National Police and the Rwanda National Police.
The agreement focuses on strengthening professional policing standards, institutional capacity building, and security cooperation between the two institutions.
Inspector General of Police Gregory O. W. Coleman, along with a delegation of senior officers, is currently in Kigali to participate in activities marking Rwanda National Police Day celebrations, scheduled for May 27–28, 2026.
The release further disclosed that an additional twenty officers of the Liberia National Police have benefited from two separate cohorts of the Police Station Commanders Course conducted in Rwanda.
The Liberia National Police says it remains committed to advancing international partnerships and professional development initiatives aimed at improving operational readiness, strengthening policing standards, and enhancing public safety and national security across Liberia.
