
Monrovia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has received recognition by Rwanda police authorities as a delegation headed by Inspector General is currently in Kigali, participating in activities marking the 25th Anniversary of the Rwanda National Police and the graduation ceremony of Special Forces trainees.
The ceremony, scheduled for tomorrow, will include the graduation of twenty officers of the Liberia National Police who successfully completed specialized tactical training in Rwanda.
According to the LNP, the visit highlights the growing bilateral cooperation and long-standing security partnership between Liberia and Rwanda, especially in areas such as professional policing, intelligence sharing, tactical operations, institutional development, and regional security collaboration.
During the visit, the Inspector General held a bilateral meeting with Rwandan President Paul Kagame, where he conveyed greetings and best wishes from Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and the people of Liberia.
Authorities, however, noted that details of the discussions remain confidential in line with diplomatic and security protocols governing high-level engagements.
The Liberia National Police described the graduation of the twenty officers as a significant milestone in its ongoing reform and modernization agenda aimed at strengthening operational readiness, enhancing public safety response, and improving service delivery across the country.
The LNP further emphasized that modern policing requires continuous investment in professional training, discipline, respect for human rights, and adherence to the rule of law.
Police authorities also noted that partnerships with regional and international institutions remain essential to building stronger security systems and promoting regional stability across Africa.
The Liberia National Police reaffirmed its commitment to fostering international partnerships that support peace, democratic policing, professional excellence, and national security.
