Monrovia, Liberia – The American Business Association of Liberia (ABAIL) officially launched its operations with the induction of Mr. Abraham Avi Zaidenberg as its inaugural president, pledging to strengthen economic ties between Liberia and the United States under the theme “Building Bridges, Creating Opportunities, Strengthening U.S.–Liberia Business for a Prosperous Future.”
The ceremony, held in Monrovia, brought together high-ranking government officials, diplomats, and business leaders. Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung graced the occasion, alongside Ambassador-at-Large Charles Snetter representing President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. Other dignitaries included Finance Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, Commerce Minister Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh, representatives of the U.S. Embassy, Ambassador Yin Chengwu of China, and leaders of Liberia’s diverse business community.
In his induction speech, Mr. Zaidenberg expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him and emphasized ABAIL’s mission to serve as a bridge between Liberian and American businesses. “We believe that strong partnerships create stronger economies and that when businesses grow responsibly, communities prosper,” he said.
Zaidenberg highlighted Liberia’s longstanding relationship with the United States, noting that ABAIL will work to deepen this bond through trade, investment, and innovation. He pledged that the association would be a constructive partner to the Government of Liberia, supporting initiatives that improve the investment climate, create jobs, and promote sustainable growth.
The new president also underscored the importance of international collaboration, extending a hand of partnership to representatives from China, India, Lebanon, and other nations present. He called on ABAIL members to uphold integrity, professionalism, and innovation while mentoring the next generation of business leaders and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
“Let us build bridges where others see barriers. Let us create opportunities where others see challenges. And let us strengthen the partnership between Liberia and the United States in ways that promote investment, create jobs, and improve the lives of our people,” Zaidenberg declared.
The launch of ABAIL marks a significant step in Liberia’s private sector development, positioning the association as a key player in fostering international business cooperation and driving economic prosperity.
