MONROVIA–Several Liberian government officials and members of the diplomatic corps and the private business sector are expected to swamp the Ellen Ministerial Complex today Friday for the official re-launch of the official biography of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., titled From Foya to the Capitol.
According to the Executive Mansion, the re-launch is organized by the Office of the President.
The book authored by Dr. Sakui Malakpa, is said to have chronicled President Boakai’s life, public service and leadership journey, tracing his rise from Foya, Lofa County, to the presidency of Liberia.
The Executive Mansion said, the publication documents key experiences and milestones that shaped President Boakai’s life, including his time in Foya, at the Firestone Plantation, in Kenema, Sierra Leone, Tubmanburg in Bomi County, and Monrovia.
The re-launch will also feature the unveiling of the concept of the “Know Your Presidents” Initiative (KPI), which is intended to promote greater public understanding of the lives, backgrounds, public service and leadership of Liberia’s presidents.
The Executive Mansion said the initiative will begin with President Boakai and is expected to serve as a complementary platform for documenting and presenting the experiences of Liberia’s leaders.
The Office of the President described the biography as a contribution to documenting President Boakai’s personal and public-service journey, which spans several decades.
The re-launch is also intended to renew public awareness of the book and make it more accessible, particularly to young Liberians seeking motivation and inspiration as they confront the challenges of life.
The Executive Mansion said the book highlights themes of resilience, hope, positive thinking and humility through the experiences of President Boakai.
The ceremony is expected to bring together senior government officials, members of the diplomatic community, civil society representatives, academics, young people, journalists and other guests.
The Office of the President is encouraging the public to attend the event and use the occasion to reflect on President Boakai’s life and years of service, as documented in the biography, From Foya to the Capitol.
