President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. has praised the Muslim community for its contributions to national development, peacebuilding, and social cohesion.
In his Eid message to the nation, President Boakai described Eid al-Adha as a sacred period marked by faith, sacrifice, obedience, compassion, and gratitude, values he said are essential to building a united and prosperous Liberia.
“As you join millions of your fellow believers around the world in celebrating the blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha, I extend heartfelt greetings and best wishes to you and your families on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia,” the President stated.
The Liberian leader emphasized that the holy celebration serves as a reminder of devotion to God, service to humanity, and love for one another.
“These values remain essential as we continue working together to build a peaceful, united, and prosperous Liberia,” he noted.
President Boakai also acknowledged the role of Liberia’s Muslim community in strengthening the nation through contributions to education, commerce, peacebuilding, and national unity.
“This nation acknowledges your contributions to national development, peacebuilding, education, commerce, and social cohesion which continue to strengthen the fabric of our nation,” he said.
He further praised Liberia’s religious harmony and diversity, describing the Eid celebration as a reflection of the unity that binds Liberians together.
“Liberia is proud of its rich religious harmony and diversity, and this celebration further reflects the spirit of unity and concord that bind us together as one people and one nation,” the President added.
Calling on Liberians to embrace reconciliation and mutual respect, President Boakai urged citizens to reject division and work collectively toward national progress.
“As families gather in prayer and fellowship during this holy season, I encourage all Liberians to embrace the virtues of kindness, generosity, reconciliation, and mutual respect,” he urged.
The President concluded by praying for Allah’s blessings upon Liberia and Muslims worldwide.
“May the Almighty Allah accept your prayers, sacrifices, and acts of devotion, and may He continue to bless the Republic of Liberia with peace, stability, and abundant progress. Eid Mubarak to all Muslims in Liberia and around the world,” he said.
