The Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority (LSEZA) has intensified efforts to attract foreign investment by promoting Liberia’s agro-industrial potential at the Liberia-Nigeria Trade and Investment Forum 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria.
The forum brought together government officials, business leaders, investors, and development partners to explore trade and investment opportunities aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between Liberia and Nigeria.
Representing LSEZA, Project Manager William K.C. Kawalawu and Director of Regulations and Legal Affairs, Atty. Ebenezer M. Wilson, presented Liberia’s investment opportunities under the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) Project and the country’s Special Economic Zones framework.
During the presentation, the officials highlighted the SAPZ Project as a key initiative designed to increase agricultural value addition, expand agro-processing, create employment opportunities, and boost exports. They noted that the project is intended to unlock the country’s agricultural potential while supporting industrial development and economic diversification.
The delegation also emphasized Liberia’s investor-friendly business environment, encouraging prospective investors to take advantage of the incentives and opportunities available through the Special Economic Zones framework.
A major focus of the discussions was the role of Agriculture Transformation Centers (ATCs), which are expected to serve as vital links between farmers and agro-processing industries. According to the delegation, the centers will improve farmers’ access to markets, increase agricultural productivity, and ensure a reliable supply of raw materials for agro-industrial processing.
On the sidelines of the forum, LSEZA officials engaged with potential investors and development partners to explore partnerships that could accelerate Liberia’s industrialization agenda and support sustainable agricultural transformation.
The Authority said its participation in the Liberia-Nigeria Trade and Investment Forum reflects the government’s commitment to attracting investment, promoting value-added agriculture, creating jobs, and driving sustainable economic growth through regional collaboration and private sector partnerships.
