MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police said it has charged a Technical Assistant at the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC), Reuben M. Sauser, in connection with an alleged passport fraud scheme involving forged official documents.
According to police reports, Sauser has been charged with Criminal Conspiracy, Forgery, and Criminal Facilitation. Investigators allege that he unlawfully used the official LWSC stamp and forged the signature of the corporation’s Managing Director to facilitate the renewal of a service passport for a former LWSC contractor.
The police further claim that Sauser received L$56,600 through mobile money as payment for his alleged role in the fraudulent activity.
Authorities say the matter has been forwarded to court, where Sauser is expected to face prosecution as legal proceedings continue.
