A new Public School has been added to existing public schools in Grand Bassa County after Education Minister Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah officially dedicated a newly constructed public school in Buchanan.
She performed the task on behalf of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, as the government reaffirms its commitment to improving access to quality education across Liberia.
The dedication ceremony, held Friday, marked the opening of the new facility, which was built to ease overcrowding at Bassa High School and expand educational opportunities for students in Grand Bassa County.
Speaking during the event, Dr. Jallah said the Boakai administration remains committed to strengthening the country’s education sector through continued investment in school infrastructure. She emphasized that quality education extends beyond constructing classrooms, stressing the importance of qualified teachers, adequate learning materials, and safe, supportive environments where students can excel academically.
“The Government of Liberia remains dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to quality education in an environment that promotes learning and growth,” the minister said.
Dr. Jallah commended the Grand Bassa County Legislative Caucus and the County Council for funding the construction of the school and praised the World Basic Group of Companies for completing the project ahead of schedule.
Receiving the keys to the facility on behalf of President Boakai and the Government of Liberia, the Education Minister pledged that the Ministry of Education would continue collaborating with county authorities and development partners to further improve the campus and enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
The dedication ceremony brought together government officials, lawmakers, education stakeholders, traditional leaders, students, and residents, who celebrated the completion of the project as another milestone in the government’s efforts to strengthen Liberia’s education system and invest in the nation’s future generations.
