Gbarpolu County Superintendent Sam K. Zinnah has declined an invitation from the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) to appear before the Commission regarding the controversial yellow machines case, citing the matter’s pending status before the court.
In a letter dated July 14, 2026, addressed to LACC Executive Chairperson Cllr. Alexandra K. Zoe, Superintendent Zinnah confirmed receipt of the Commission’s July 9 communication inviting him to a meeting scheduled for July 16, 2026.
According to the LACC, the meeting was intended to gather additional information regarding the yellow machines, including their current condition and the circumstances surrounding their assembly. The Commission requested that Zinnah attend with his legal counsel as well as the individual or individuals who initially assembled the equipment.
However, Superintendent Zinnah declined the invitation, arguing that the matter is already before the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court and should therefore be addressed exclusively through the judicial process.
He maintained that engaging in discussions outside the courtroom while the case is pending could compromise the integrity of the legal proceedings. As a result, he said it would be inappropriate for him to participate in the proposed meeting.
Despite his decision not to attend, Zinnah reaffirmed his respect for the rule of law and expressed his willingness to fully cooperate with all legal proceedings. He emphasized that he would continue responding to the allegations through the court process in accordance with the law.
The yellow machines case remains one of several high-profile corruption cases being prosecuted by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission. The outcome now rests with the court as legal proceedings continue.
