MONROVIA – Minister of National Defense, Brigadier General Geraldine J. George (Rtd.), has called on members of the country’s security sector to remain committed to their duties, emphasizing that their service and sacrifices remain vital to preserving peace, stability, and national security.
Speaking Friday at an awards and recognition ceremony organized by the Liberia National Law Enforcement Association (LINEA) as part of its 32nd anniversary celebration, Brigadier General George praised the dedication, courage, and professionalism of Liberia’s security personnel.
She noted that the continued commitment of men and women in uniform is essential to safeguarding the nation and ensuring a secure environment for citizens. According to the Defense Minister, lasting peace and security can only be sustained through vigilance, discipline, and selfless service.
The ceremony, held at the YMCA Gymnasium on Crown Hill in Monrovia, brought together officials from various security ministries and agencies. The event served as a platform to honor security personnel who have demonstrated exceptional diligence, professionalism, and outstanding performance in the execution of their responsibilities.
Brigadier General George also commended LINEA for its 32 years of service to Liberia’s law enforcement community. She acknowledged the association’s contributions toward improving the welfare, capacity, and professional standards of law enforcement officers across the country.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration within the security sector, Brigadier General George pointed to the strong partnership between the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) and the country’s law enforcement institutions.
She stressed that both entities share a common responsibility to protect the nation and uphold security through discipline, sacrifice, and dedicated service.
Delivering the keynote address, the Commissioner for Customs at the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), Hon. Saa Saamoi, underscored the importance of professionalism in law enforcement and public service.
He described professionalism as a cornerstone of effective law enforcement, noting that disciplined and ethical security institutions are essential to building public confidence, strengthening trust in government, and maintaining the rule of law.
