MONROVIA, Liberia — Education Minister Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah has challenged graduates of Stella Maris Polytechnic University to transform their academic achievements into meaningful contributions to Liberia’s development.
A total of 679 students, comprising 461 females and 218 males, graduated during the institution’s 27th Commencement Convocation on Friday.
Serving as Convocation Orator, Minister Jallah congratulated the Class of 2026 and commended the families, lecturers, mentors, and other supporters whose contributions helped the graduates reach the milestone.
She urged the graduates not to view their degrees merely as academic credentials, but as tools for addressing some of the country’s pressing challenges through research, innovation, integrity, and professional excellence.
According to Minister Jallah, Liberia’s development requires graduates who are prepared to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world challenges and contribute positively to their communities and institutions.
She also encouraged the graduates to embrace lifelong learning and remain adaptable as they navigate an increasingly changing professional environment.
“Titles tell us where you sat. Impact tells us what happened because you were there,” Minister Jallah told the graduates.
The Education Ministry congratulated the Stella Maris Polytechnic University Class of 2026 and urged them to use their skills, ideas, and leadership to make meaningful contributions to Liberia’s classrooms, businesses, institutions, communities, and economy.
