Monrovia-Tensions erupted in Neezoe Community after a group of Liberian women reportedly staged a naked protest, demanding urgent answers from the police over the mysterious disappearance of a man identified as Benjamin Morris, who has reportedly been missing for more than six weeks.
The unusual protest, involving women appearing naked in public, was reportedly intended to draw attention to what the family describes as the authorities’ failure to take decisive action in locating Morris and establishing the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
The wife of the missing man, identified as Louis Morris, said her husband left home more than two months ago and has not returned since, leaving the family deeply worried about his whereabouts and safety.
Madam Morris expressed frustration over what she described as the police’s failure to adequately respond to the family’s report concerning her husband’s disappearance.
According to her, despite informing the police about the matter, the family has yet to receive satisfactory answers or see meaningful action that could help establish Morris’ whereabouts.
She further alleged that the vehicle in which her husband was last reportedly seen is currently at the Jacob Town Police Station.
However, she questioned why the police have allegedly failed to take appropriate action against the owner of the vehicle or establish the circumstances surrounding its connection to her husband’s disappearance.
The wife’s allegations have raised serious questions about the handling of the missing-person report, particularly regarding whether investigators have properly examined the vehicle and questioned individuals who may have information about Morris’ last known movements.
The women’s decision to resort to a naked protest underscores the level of frustration and desperation surrounding the disappearance. However, their demonstration also places renewed public attention on the responsibility of law enforcement authorities to respond promptly and professionally to missing-person cases.
The police must clarify whether a formal investigation has been opened, what steps have been taken to trace Morris, and whether the vehicle reportedly linked to his last known whereabouts has been examined.
The family deserves clear communication and a credible investigation rather than being left to resort to public demonstrations to demand attention.
As of the time of this report, no official response from the Liberia National Police concerning the allegations had been provided.
The whereabouts of Benjamin Morris remain unknown, while his family continues to demand answers and urgent intervention from the relevant authorities.
