MONROVIA–Information Minister and government spokesperson Jerolimck Piah has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering critical infrastructure projects across the country, highlighting ongoing road expansion works and long-term plans to improve national connectivity.
Speaking during the Ministry of Information’s regular press briefing, Piah pointed to visible progress on road construction activities linked to the recently ratified concession agreement with Ivanhoe Atlantic, noting that expansion works have already commenced along sections of the Buchanan corridor.
According to the minister, the government is pursuing an ambitious strategy to improve road infrastructure across Liberia, including the development of a four-lane highway connecting Monrovia to western Liberia and the continued construction of roads in the southeastern region.
Piah said the administration is taking a multi-pronged approach to road development, with work progressing simultaneously from different sections of major project corridors to accelerate completion and maximize impact.
He also highlighted ongoing investments in southeastern Liberia, where the government has pledged to improve road access and connectivity as part of its broader national development agenda.
“The government remains focused on delivering the development promised to the Liberian people,” Piah said. “When Liberians look back, they will see that this was truly a rescue mission.”
The minister emphasized that the administration remains determined to fulfill its campaign commitments and ensure that infrastructure development serves as a catalyst for economic growth, trade, and improved access to essential services throughout the country.
