RABAT: The Republic of Liberia has reiterated its unwavering support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco and its sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Sahara region.
Liberian Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti made the assertion Thursday in Rabat following talks with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.
Minister Nyanti said Liberia, as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, will continue to work closely with Morocco and support the Kingdom within the Council ahead of discussions on the Sahara issue scheduled for October 2026.
She emphasized the close relations between Liberia and Morocco, noting that both countries remain committed to strengthening bilateral ties under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.
The Liberian Foreign Minister also expressed her government’s commitment to expanding opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of diplomacy, culture and the economy.
According to Minister Nyanti, strengthening cooperation in these areas will serve the interests of both countries and their peoples.
The talks in Rabat form part of Liberia’s continued diplomatic engagement with Morocco as both countries seek to deepen bilateral cooperation and strengthen their partnership on regional and international platforms.
