MONROVIA – The Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) has been honored as Liberia’s Best Performing Public Institution of 2026, earning national recognition during this year’s National Public Service Day celebrations organized by the Civil Service Agency in Sanniquellie, Nimba County.
The award recognizes LiMA’s performance in public service delivery, accountability, innovation, and institutional effectiveness, underscoring its contribution to the Government of Liberia’s broader development agenda.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Authority, Neto Zarzar Lighe Sr. dedicated the achievement to the management and staff of LiMA, praising their commitment to professionalism and excellence in service.
Speaking following the presentation, Commissioner Lighe described the recognition as a reflection of the collective efforts of the Authority’s workforce.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of the entire LiMA family. We remain committed to delivering efficient and quality services while contributing to the growth and transformation of Liberia’s maritime sector and public service,” he said.
The National Public Service Day celebrations brought together government officials, civil servants, and development stakeholders from across Liberia to honor institutions and individuals whose contributions have strengthened public sector performance and improved service delivery nationwide.
The recognition marks a significant milestone for the Liberia Maritime Authority, which has continued efforts to enhance transparency, strengthen regulatory oversight, and promote Liberia’s maritime interests on the international stage.
