New York — Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, has held talks with Niger’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakary Yaou Sangaré, on issues affecting Africa and the Sahel region.
The meeting took place Tuesday in New York on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Morocco’s Foreign Ministry, the two officials reviewed the state of relations between Morocco and Niger and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Bourita and Sangaré also exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues of common interest.
The meeting comes as African leaders and senior government officials gather in New York for the annual UN General Assembly, where regional cooperation, peace and security, and international partnerships remain key issues on the agenda.
