Monrovia-Madam Nowai Gbotolo, aliased ‘Boakai Da Baby’, Saturday reaped real benefit of what it takes to be loyal to a cause or and individual in spite of temptations and criticisms as President Joseph Boakai turned over to her a three-bedroom house to her and family in the Old Road Community.
It was more than an ordinary day for Madam Gbotolo and her family upon seeing the presidency cutting ribbon to the house and eventually turned it over to her.
According to her reporter, it was a moment of tears, joy, gratitude, and renewed hope as the President turned over a newly constructed three-bedroom house to her and her family in the Old Road community.
What was once a difficult living condition in an old building has now given way to a decent, well constructed home, marking a life changing moment for Noah and her family.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the President and members of his team arrived to dedicate the building. Tears of joy could be seen on the faces of Nowai and her family members as they witnessed the transformation of their living conditions.
Speaking during the turnover ceremony, President Boakai said Nowai had demonstrated strong support for him over time, adding that the construction of the house was a personal gesture funded from his own resources.
According to the President, he realized that Nowai needed assistance to improve her living conditions and decided to intervene by providing her with a decent home.
In a lighthearted moment, President Boakai recalled that Nowai had declared him her son. He jokingly explained that, having accepted that relationship, he was simply playing his role as a son by providing his mother with a better place to live.
Beyond the construction of the house, the President also presented Nowai with US$2,000 to purchase household materials and furnish the new home.
For Nowai, the gesture represents more than the gift of a building. It was a moment of emotional fulfillment after years of publicly expressing her support for the President.
Reflecting on her journey of supporting Boakai, she recalled that some people had discouraged her, telling her that the President would never do anything for her because, according to them, he was not someone who gave freely.
However, standing before her newly constructed home, she expressed happiness that her support had not gone unrecognized.
She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting President Boakai in future elections.
The dedication also attracted attention from residents of the surrounding communities, some of whom gathered to celebrate the occasion and welcome the President.
Nowai Gbotolo became widely recognized on social media following her public confrontation with Montserrado County District #10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah over comments she considered harsh toward President Boakai.
Her outspoken defense of the President produced the popular expression:
“Yekeh too frisky! He and Boakai na equal!” ” but Boakia Da Baby” a slogan that made her well-known.
Her determination to defend the President attracted public attention, making her a recognizable figure among supporters.
A family that once lived under old structure will onward live in a more comfortable environment.
As Nowai stood before the house, surrounded by family members and well-wishers, the emotions of the moment spoke louder than words.
The construction of a new building sponsor directly from the pocket of the president has created a new chapter in the life of Boakia Da baby and her family while she committed her future support.
