

MONROVIA – The Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) has taken steps to advance the implementation of its National Financial Education Campaign,after convening a one-day stakeholders’ meeting aimed at leveraging opportunities to engender the involvement and participation of key actors in the country’s financial and development sectors.
The meeting, held at the CBL headquarters in Monrovia, brought together representatives from commercial banks, financial institutions, universities, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Federation of Liberian Youth, and other relevant stakeholders.
CBL said the engagement formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the next phase of Liberia’s Financial Education Project, which seeks to improve financial literacy and promote broader financial inclusion across the country.
Discussions during the meeting focused on identifying practical strategies to enhance public understanding of financial services, improve money management skills, and encourage responsible financial decision-making among citizens.
Participants also exchanged ideas on strengthening partnerships between financial institutions, government agencies, and civil society organizations to ensure the effective rollout of the campaign nationwide.
The Central Bank of Liberia reaffirmed its commitment to working collaboratively with stakeholders to empower Liberians with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed financial decisions, noting that financial education is essential to supporting sustainable economic development.
The initiative is expected to play a key role in expanding access to financial services and strengthening economic participation across different sectors of the population.
