Justice Minister Cllr. Oswald Tweh has challenged the first graduating class of the Liberia National Fire Service’s Basic In-Service Training Program to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and professionalism as they begin their careers in public service.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony, where he administered the oath of office to the graduates, Minister Tweh reminded the newly trained firefighters that Liberians will look to them for hope, protection, and assistance during emergencies and other times of distress.
He urged the officers to carry out their duties with fairness, honesty, and dedication, while resisting every form of corruption. According to the Justice Minister, public confidence in the Liberia National Fire Service will depend on the integrity and professionalism demonstrated by its personnel.
Cllr. Tweh further emphasized the importance of serving all citizens impartially, regardless of their background or social status, stressing that public trust must remain the cornerstone of effective public service.
He noted that the graduation of the pioneering Class One comes at a time when the administration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. is intensifying efforts to strengthen and professionalize Liberia’s security sector.
The Justice Minister encouraged the graduates to contribute meaningfully to that national vision by serving with honor, courage, and an unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across Liberia.
He congratulated the graduates on completing the training program and challenged them to remain disciplined and dedicated as they assume their responsibilities in safeguarding communities throughout the country.
