Monrovia-Gbarpolu County Senator Amara Konneh has criticized the Unity Party-led government, claiming that it has lost every case it has taken to court.
Senator Konneh made the statement while discussing national issues, including the government’s legal challenges and the ELWA–Roberts International Airport highway project.
The senator also argued that the highway project should be credited to the former Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) administration rather than the current Unity Party-led government.
His comments come amid ongoing public discussions about the government’s performance, infrastructure development, and accountability.
Konneh’s remarks on the highway project raise questions about the respective contributions of the two administrations to the project’s development and implementation.
The ELWA–Roberts International Airport highway is an important road project connecting the ELWA Junction area to Roberts International Airport. However, further details would be needed to establish the project’s history, funding arrangements, and the roles played by successive administrations.
Meanwhile, Konneh has also been involved in a public dispute with Deputy Information Minister Daniel O. Sando over remarks exchanged between the two men.
Sando previously described the senator as “lazy” following a disagreement that reportedly led to court action.
According to Sando, Konneh referred to him as an “unskilled sycophant,” prompting him to respond by calling the senator a “fraudster.”
“Senator Amara Konneh referred to me as an ‘unskilled sycophant,’ and I responded by calling him a fraudster. He took me to court. That is laziness on the part of Senator Amara Konneh. Senator Amara Konneh is lazy,” Sando stated.
The dispute has added to the public exchanges between the two officials, although the available information does not establish the current status or outcome of the court proceedings.
Konneh’s latest criticism of the government and his comments about the highway project come as questions continue to be raised about government performance and the implementation of major infrastructure projects.
However, the senator’s claim that the Unity Party-led government has lost every case it has taken to court could not be independently verified from the information provided.
Further details about the cases he referenced, along with responses from the government and the Ministry of Information, would be necessary to provide a more complete account of his allegations.
As of the time of this report, the government’s response to Konneh’s latest remarks was not available.
