Accra, Ghana , The Liberia National Police (LNP) has participated in the 13th African Security Symposium (ASEC 2026), held from July 7–9, 2026, in Accra, Ghana, under the theme: “Strengthening African Security Through Innovation and Inclusion.”
The three-day high-level security forum brought together senior representatives from across Africa and beyond, including officials from the African Union Commission’s Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS) Division, the United Nations, INTERPOL, the United States military, regional governments, security institutions, non-governmental organizations, and other security experts.
The symposium focused on addressing Africa’s evolving peace and security challenges through innovation, collaboration, and inclusive approaches.
Representing Liberia at the event, the LNP delegation took part in plenary discussions, strategic networking sessions, cultural exchanges, targeted partnership meetings, and technology exhibitions showcasing emerging security solutions aimed at improving modern policing and security operations.
According to the LNP, the symposium provided an important opportunity for participants to share experiences, explore practical counterterrorism strategies, strengthen regional cooperation, and develop partnerships among security institutions.
The delegation described the gathering as a valuable platform that enhanced professional knowledge on emerging security threats while promoting collaboration among African and international security actors committed to peace, stability, and public safety.
Through the Deputy Inspector General of Police for Administration, Hon. William K. Mulbah, the Liberia National Police expressed appreciation to the organizers of ASEC 2026 for convening what it described as a successful and impactful forum that encouraged dialogue and cooperation among security stakeholders.
The LNP delegation also extended gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Hon. Gregory O. W. Coleman, for the confidence placed in them to represent the institution at the international security forum. The delegation further acknowledged the Government of Liberia for its continued support toward strengthening the capacity and global engagement of the police force.
The Liberia National Police reaffirmed its commitment to improving operational effectiveness through international partnerships, knowledge sharing, and the adoption of innovative approaches aimed at promoting a safer and more secure Liberia.
