The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is advancing efforts to establish the Liberia Trade Information Portal (LITP), an initiative intended to improve public access to trade-related information and streamline the process of obtaining essential trade information in Liberia.
As part of ongoing preparations, the Ministry’s Senior Management Team on Tuesday held discussions with partners currently in Liberia for an initial two-week field visit.
The engagement focused on efforts to lay the foundation for the development and implementation of the Liberia Trade Information Portal, which is expected to serve as a centralized platform for trade-related information.
According to the Ministry, the portal will improve the accessibility of information on trade procedures, requirements and other relevant matters for members of the public and the business community.
The initiative is also expected to reduce the amount of time spent by individuals and businesses seeking trade-related information, particularly visitors who may require guidance on Liberia’s trade processes.
The Ministry said the establishment of the LITP forms part of its broader efforts to improve efficiency, transparency and accessibility within Liberia’s trade sector.
The ongoing field visit by partners is expected to provide an opportunity to assess existing systems, engage relevant stakeholders and gather information necessary for the development of the portal.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is expected to provide further details on the initiative and its implementation in subsequent publications.
The Liberia Trade Information Portal is anticipated to contribute to a more accessible and efficient trade information system, benefiting businesses, investors, traders and members of the public seeking information on trade-related matters in Liberia.
