The John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFKMC) has announced an internal review following reports of post-operative complications experienced by a patient after undergoing a cesarean section, as public concern continues to grow over a video circulating on social media.
In a statement issued Wednesday, June 17, 2026, the hospital expressed sympathy for the patient and her family, describing the situation as deeply concerning and reaffirming its commitment to supporting her care and recovery.
The management of JFK Medical Center said it is aware of the video being shared online and recognizes the distress the incident has caused the patient, her relatives, and members of the public.
While declining to discuss specific details of the case, citing patient confidentiality laws and medical ethics, the institution emphasized that it has remained actively engaged with the patient’s family and is working to ensure she receives the necessary medical care and support.
According to the hospital, management continues to collaborate with all relevant parties while safeguarding the patient’s privacy, dignity, and right to confidential healthcare.
JFKMC further disclosed that a comprehensive review of the matter is underway. The hospital said the individuals involved in the patient’s care have been referred to the appropriate authorities for an independent investigation.
Pending the outcome of that review, the staff members involved have been placed on administrative leave from clinical duties as a precautionary measure.
Hospital authorities noted that the decision reflects the institution’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and due process while maintaining public confidence in the healthcare system.
The medical center stressed that the review will be conducted in a thorough, impartial, and transparent manner, with findings and recommendations expected to guide any subsequent actions.
JFKMC reaffirmed its commitment to cooperating with and supporting the patient and her family throughout the process, stating that its primary focus remains the patient’s well-being, the integrity of the review process, and preserving public trust in the country’s largest referral hospital.
