MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has announced a series of disciplinary actions involving several officers, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen accountability, professionalism, and public trust within the institution.
The measures, issued through the Professional Standards Department (PSD), include both reinstatements and suspensions following investigations into various allegations of misconduct ranging from unlawful detention and financial impropriety to insubordination and failure to account for funds.
According to the LNP, the actions are consistent with the leadership vision of the Inspector General of Police, who has emphasized discipline and ethical conduct as central to effective policing and public confidence in law enforcement.
Among officers reinstated is Superintendent Margaret T. Forh, formerly General Commander of Zone-1 Base Police Station and its depots.
She had been suspended for one month without pay following allegations of unlawful detention of complainants. The police say she has now been reinstated after complying with recommendations from the Professional Standards Department.
Also reinstated is Patrolman Yvette C. W. Nieburg of the Police Support Unit (PSU), who was previously suspended indefinitely without pay in 2022 over a financial obligation of US$350 owed to Belle Grant Credit Enterprise. Her reinstatement follows compliance with disciplinary recommendations.
The police also announced the suspension of several officers found wanting in separate investigations.
Inspector Castello McGee of Zone-8 Base has been suspended indefinitely without pay for allegedly failing to account for US$60 received on behalf of a complainant. His return to duty is dependent on restitution of the funds.
In another case, Detective Chief Inspector G. Daniel Flomo, Deputy Commander of the Crime Services Division in Grand Bassa County, has been relieved of his post and suspended indefinitely without pay over allegations involving unpaid financial obligations totaling US$900 owed to colleagues.
Inspector Henry K. Drow Jr., Chief Armorer of the Grand Bassa County Police Detachment, was suspended for one month without pay after being found guilty of gross insubordination toward senior police leadership.
Additionally, Superintendent Momodu S. Sanyon and Patrolman Marian B. Cole were suspended indefinitely without pay following allegations of failure to settle financial obligations owed to a complainant, with reinstatement tied to full repayment.
Chief Inspector Abraham B. Mandehdou of the Professional Standards Department in Grand Bassa County was also suspended indefinitely without pay and transferred from his position following allegations involving the receipt and mishandling of funds linked to land transactions and complainants. His reinstatement, the LNP noted, will depend on full restitution.
The Liberia National Police reaffirmed its commitment to discipline and accountability, stressing that no officer is above the law.
The institution said the latest actions demonstrate its resolve to build a more transparent and professional police service that upholds integrity and earns the confidence of the Liberian people.
