Monrovia-The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has announced plans to install 18 LED display boards across Monrovia as part of efforts to improve public awareness of tax obligations and encourage voluntary tax compliance.
The initiative was discussed during a meeting between the LRA and the ALLFORLAND team at the Authority’s headquarters in Monrovia, where both sides explored plans for the construction and installation of the digital display boards.
Speaking during the meeting, LRA Commissioner General James Dorbor Jallah said the project would begin with the installation of a display board at the Authority’s headquarters before expanding to other locations across Monrovia.
He noted that the initiative is expected to extend to other parts of the country in the future to ensure that more citizens and businesses have access to information about their tax responsibilities.
According to the LRA, the LED display boards will be used to share tax education messages, inform the public about tax obligations, and explain the importance of tax compliance in supporting national development.
The digital platforms are expected to make tax-related information more visible and accessible, allowing the Authority to reach a wider audience through technology-based communication.
The project forms part of the LRA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen taxpayer education and promote a culture of voluntary compliance among individuals and businesses operating in Liberia.
Through the proposed partnership with ALLFORLAND, the Authority is seeking to explore additional ways of improving public engagement on taxation and encouraging responsible tax practices.
The LRA maintains that public awareness and taxpayer education are important to improving compliance and ensuring that citizens and businesses understand their obligations under the country’s tax system.
