Monrovia-The administration of the William V.S. Tubman University (TU) in Harper, Maryland County is facing fresh pressure from the Vanguard Students Unification Alliance over poor wi-fi infrastructure, with the study political organization issuing a two-week ultimatum to the administration to provide reliable Wi-Fi services across all six colleges of the university.
SUA warned of dire consequences of unspecified actions should the University administration fail to address the demand within the two-week period.
The statement was made on Thursday, October 8, 2026, during the Alliance’s regular “Block-13 Day,” an activity held every Thursday to discuss issues affecting students and matters concerning the university community.
According to the Alliance, students are required to pay a US$10 technology fee, but they questioned why students continue to pay the fee when adequate Wi-Fi services are not being provided across the university.
The group said the technology fee creates an expectation that students should have access to essential technological services, particularly internet connectivity needed for academic research, online learning, communication, and other educational activities.
The Alliance is therefore calling on the university administration to ensure that Wi-Fi services are provided across all six colleges within the two-week period.
However, the group did not disclose the nature of the action it intends to take if the administration fails to meet its demand before the expiration of the ultimatum.
The development has placed renewed attention on students’ concerns about technology services and the use of technology-related fees at Tubman University.
