The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Liberia’s security sector following a high-level engagement between U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Joe Zadrozny and the leadership of the Liberia National Police (LNP) and Executive Protection Service (EPS).
Chargé d’Affaires Zadrozny held separate engagements with LNP Inspector General Gregory O.W. Coleman and EPS Director Sam Gaye, where discussions centered on strengthening Liberia’s security and legal institutions and deepening cooperation between the two countries.
During the meetings, Zadrozny emphasized Washington’s continued support for Liberia’s security institutions, assuring Liberian partners that the United States “stands firmly with our Liberian partners” as the country works to strengthen law enforcement and the rule of law.
According to the U.S. Embassy, the American diplomat stressed that a just and accountable legal system is essential to Liberia’s internal stability and has broader implications for regional security.
He also highlighted the longstanding relationship between Liberia and the United States, describing the partnership as an enduring friendship that continues to support efforts toward peace, security, and institutional development.
Zadrozny further said the United States is proud to support Liberia’s efforts to advance law and order, pledging continued collaboration with the Government and people of Liberia.
The U.S. Embassy says Washington looks forward to expanding joint initiatives with Liberia aimed at strengthening the country’s security capacity while contributing to the prosperity and stability of both nations.
The engagement comes as Liberia continues efforts to strengthen its security and justice institutions and improve coordination among agencies responsible for maintaining law and order.
The meeting between the U.S. diplomatic representative and the leadership of the LNP and EPS is expected to further reinforce existing security cooperation between Liberia and the United States, particularly in areas involving institutional strengthening, accountability, and public safety.
