MONROVIA – The Ministry of Health (MOH), through its National AIDS and STI Control Program, has completed the final validation and endorsement of a revised Joint Integrated Supportive Supervision (JISS) Tool designed to strengthen healthcare service delivery at primary health facilities across Liberia.

The validation exercise, held in Monrovia, brought together health partners, technical experts, and key stakeholders to review and finalize the updated framework ahead of its nationwide rollout.
According to the Ministry, the revised supervision tool is intended to improve the quality of healthcare services by strengthening oversight, monitoring, and adherence to national treatment guidelines, particularly in maternal and child health services.
A major focus of the updated tool is the integration of HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B interventions into routine primary healthcare and antenatal care services.
Health officials say the approach will help improve early detection, treatment, and follow-up care for patients while enhancing health outcomes for mothers and newborns.
The revised framework also seeks to strengthen coordination among healthcare providers and improve compliance with established public health standards at community-level facilities throughout the country.
Health authorities noted that the integration of hepatitis B services into maternal and primary healthcare systems has become an increasing priority within the global public health agenda.
As a result, the updated supervision tool is expected to support a more comprehensive and coordinated approach to disease prevention and management.
Officials believe the nationwide implementation of the JISS Tool will enhance patient monitoring, strengthen service delivery, and improve the overall efficiency of healthcare systems responsible for managing HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B cases.
The Ministry of Health says the initiative represents another step toward improving the quality of healthcare services and ensuring that primary health facilities are better equipped to deliver integrated and patient-centered care across Liberia.Ministry of Health Validates New Supervision Tool to Strengthen HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B Services.
