
MONROVIA–The Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS) has bragged of a strengthened emergency response operations and expanding public safety services under the leadership of Director General G. Warsuwah Barvoul Sr., saying the institution is continuing efforts to improve the protection of lives and property across the country.
In a statement, the entity said it has implemented a series of measures aimed at improving operational efficiency, enhancing coordination, and reducing response times to emergencies. The initiatives form part of the institution’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its operations and improving service delivery nationwide.
In addition to its core firefighting responsibilities, the LNFS has expanded its emergency medical response through the provision of ambulance services, offering timely assistance to citizens during medical emergencies. The initiative has become an important aspect of the institution’s broader public safety mandate and emergency response strategy.
“Under Director General Barvoul’s leadership, the Service has placed increased emphasis on professionalism, accountability, and teamwork, while investing in personnel development to strengthen the institution’s operational capacity,” the statement read.
The administration has also encouraged merit-based performance and continuous capacity building to better equip firefighters and emergency responders to address a growing range of emergencies across Liberia.
Officials say these reforms are intended to position the Liberia National Fire Service as a more efficient and responsive institution capable of meeting the country’s evolving emergency management needs.
As part of its modernization efforts, the Service says it remains committed to strengthening emergency preparedness, improving response capabilities, and enhancing public confidence in its operations.
The Liberia National Fire Service serves as the country’s primary firefighting and emergency response agency, with responsibility for protecting lives, property, and communities from fires and other emergencies throughout the Republic of Liberia.
