The Ministry of Health has handed over two cardiac beds and two echocardiogram machines to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cardiac healthcare services in Liberia.
The donation is expected to improve the hospital’s ability to diagnose, treat and manage cardiovascular diseases while enhancing specialized care for patients in need of heart-related medical services.
According to health authorities, the cardiac beds are specially designed to provide comfort and stability for patients undergoing echocardiography and other cardiac procedures.
The echocardiogram machines, commonly referred to as Echo machines, are advanced diagnostic devices used to capture detailed images of the heart’s structure and function.
Medical professionals use the machines to detect, assess and monitor a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.
Officials say the additional equipment will significantly improve the quality of cardiac care at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center, Liberia’s leading referral hospital.
The intervention forms part of the Ministry of Health’s broader commitment to strengthening the country’s healthcare system through improved medical infrastructure and expanded access to specialized healthcare services.
Health authorities believe the equipment will help improve patient outcomes and support healthcare workers in delivering more efficient and accurate cardiac treatment services.
